Uley Bury Hike 26th May 2011
On a bright blustery building evening the Beavers put on their waterproofs and walking shoes to go on a hike around Uley Bury. The hike was to help the Beavers earn their Challenge and Hiking badges. As part of the Challenge badge the Beavers needed to find and identify 25 different birds, insects and plants.
The troop went off in their lodges and quickly set to work finding all manner of plants and insects to identify. Unfortunately due to the blustery wind there were not many birds brave enough to make an appearance. However no stone was left unturned in their efforts to find all manner of bugs and beasties.
In fact the Beavers were so interested in scouring every inch of the mile route that they were starting to fall behind. Fortunately we had our very own mountain biking shepard to keep us moving along.
