After a cold night using hike tents the scouts set about building their own shelters using a combination of natural materials and plastic sheeting. This took most of the morning. The afternoon was spent learning how to make and throw Dutch Arrows building their shelters.
Despite burning the sweet corn the evening meal of burgers beans and mash was enjoyed by all. Despite some reluctance all scouts retired to their shelters well wrapped up for a good night’s sleep! Small fires outside their shelters helped the homely feel! Sunday morning saw the scouts emerge from the shelters having generally kept warm and slept well. Tidying up did not take too long and the camp ended at midday.
