Welcome to 1st Dursley Scouts Pages

The Scout Section is for boys and girls, aged between 10½ and 14½ years.  Ist Dursley Scout Troop Meets on Mondays between 7pm and 9pm. We are a lively, friendly and active troop. We publish and run an full programme aimed at encouraging Scouts to take part in a wide range of activities.

Being outdoors is important part of the Programme. Scouts take part in  the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping,cooking, pioneering, First Aid, Hiking and Survival. Along side these activities we run more adventurous activities, anything from abseiling  mountain walking to Canoeing.

We encourage our scouts to take a full part in courses and activity weekends run by the county. Other aspects of the programme encourage fitness, creativity and awareness of the world around them.

Scouts who participate fully in activities earn a range of awards. The main ones being the Challenges awards. Scouts can also work on a range of Proficiency badges that match their hobbies and interests.

In a single year Scouts have taken part in a canoeing course and a full week’s Summer Camp, activity night hikes, Operation Bald Eagle  and the Stomp.
