Welcome to the Parent Zone.

As a parent you want the best for your son or daughter. There are many ways that this is achieved but it is a fact that many of our leaders in government, industry and media were once members of the Scouting movement during their youth.

Young people need stimulation and fun and to be given the chance to lead and be part of a team. The Scouting movement offers this to children in a way that few other organisations can. Whether it's practical knowledge in First Aid, learning how to cook, trying out climbing, or camping there is always something that a young person will not have been able to try before. And as their knowledge grows, badges are earned to show what they have achieved. It is a great opportunity.

1st Dursley Scouts has been in existence sine 1908, among the first Scout Groups in the country. Our Scout Hut may be a bit battered but we have been using it since the 1930's and has had many alterations. It used to overlook open ground but has recently been surrounded by a housing development. Nevertheless, it is owned by the Scout Group and continues to be the focus of many of our activities.

Although we are a successful Scout Group we are always needing to recruit new young people into it. Sometimes there is a waiting list, other times we have vacancies. Please contact us to find out more.
